Part of my birthday celebrations was to swim with wild dolphins in the pacific ocean! This was such an amazing experience. My first snorkling experience - I didn't quite take to it like a fish to water so it took me a little time to feel comfortable breathing with my face underwater. We were encouraged to sing to attract the dolphins. I thought I would wow them with my lovely singing voice but it was as much as I could do to breathe normally and make noises like Dori talking whale from Finding Nemo. I think the dolphins found the sight and sound of this highly amusing - they all seemed to be having a good smile over it!

Several dolphins swam with me for some time and they were close enough to touch. I soon couldn't care less about the breathing thing and started to swim around with them trying to keep up and play games with them. At one time I was surrounded by dolphins - was absolutely amazing and would do this again given the opportunity.
