Watt a Year!

They say 'life begins at 40' and I never quite knew what they meant!

I recently made my '2010 Year in Status' image on facebook, which puts all your status updates together in one place - a really handy way to do a quick review of the year (unless you don't update your status much, or always update it to say the same thing that it said just now anyway).

For most of 2010 I was inded 40 but I wasn't really looking for life to begin - maybe in unspoken prayers, perhaps!

My 'Year in Status' pleasantly reminded me of a few beginnings and a few endings: I miss Bertha - the vending machine at work that when it grows up wants to be a slot machine and live in an arcade down by the beach! How's she doing? Anyone know?

I discusted myself in 2010 by getting points on my licence for (getting caught) speeding. It was a 40 limit 15 years ago when I drove it every day to work and back! No excuses! Hopefully this is the end of that particular beginning!

This ending is destined to be a beginning: Being made redundant back in the summer I finished working for AEA after nearly 22 years. I'd always enjoyed my work in AEA but knew that it would come to an end one day. After all this time, that day has come and gone! I have some great memories of those 22 years - apart from all the different (and amazing) jobs I did in AEA, I got to work with some fantastic people - many of whom have become good friends and I hope will continue to be ;- )

2010 was the year I ditched my diary in favour of my iPod calendar and the year I got reading glasses, which I usually forget to use because I don't really need them to be honest! I think I was mis-sold them. Ok, I remember now - I only got them because you get the eye test and lenses free when you're on the dole! Ha! I'm not really aging after all! ;- )

So, life begins huh?! Well, I think they may be right - maybe it does! :- )
